The Great Pumpkin Project has made me feel excited like I did as a child. It has made Halloween a little more magical.

Thanks Adam and Pumpkinrot!

The Great Pumpkin Project:  Jack O'Lanterns left anonymously in lonely places, near abandoned buildings, alongside roads... anywhere that'll give the passerby a burst of Halloween, and some questions.
Can't express my excitement at the notion of this occurring.  And I'm hoping it's contagious.  Bean and I have already selected a spot in our town, under a train bridge that gets a lot of traffic.  It's difficult to get to, so it'll be tricky, but it's the perfect spot for a smiling Jacko.
So thanks to Adam for the inspiration.  Truly the coolest project I've stumbled across, and one that's going to make a lot of folks happy.  A project that's the epitome of Halloween.

I love these pumpkin lights. This is so unique and different. Below: I also like the pumpkin guts hanging out of the pumpkin.

The pumpkins have been successful even though it has been very wet here this year and the pumpkin leaves have had a serious case of mildew on the leaves. I thinned the crap out them in hopes to prevent the spread. Not successful so I am hoping that all of the green pumpkins aren't damaged by the mildew. It is aggressive and will destroy your plants. Along with the squash bugs that have turned me into a killer. Oh speaking of killing, the mice have also eaten there way through The Barn leaving carnage of my paper mache masks for some of the props. See picture on the left. They ate the hands and the face and have left me with a mess and concerns of mice disease such as the Hantavirus and the Plague.

I love growing corn. It is so interesting to watch it grow and very rewarding when it is successful. This reddish corn is a ruby red variety. I think the longer it is on the stock the lighter it gets. I probably waited too long to pick it. Live and learn that has been the best part.

These two pictures were taken inside The Barn where I kept corn from last year. I was amazed when I opened the doors and corn was trying to grow.
